India Medical Visa Guide for International Patients

Planning medical treatment in India? We walk you through every step of the India e-Medical Visa process — from documents and fees to embassy appointments — and handle the paperwork for you, free of charge.

Understanding your visa

What is an India Medical Visa?

India offers a dedicated e-Medical Visa for foreign nationals travelling to India specifically for medical treatment. It is separate from the regular tourist e-Visa and grants privileges designed for patients — including a longer validity period and multiple entries.

Unlike a tourist visa, the e-Medical Visa requires an official invitation letter from a recognised Indian hospital confirming your treatment plan. Wiseheal Healthcare arranges this letter for every patient we assist.

The visa is applied for entirely online through the Indian government portal (indianvisaonline.gov.in), making it accessible from anywhere in the world.

Valid for 60 days

From date of first entry into India

Triple entry

Re-enter India up to three times on one visa

Extendable

Extend at FRRO if treatment requires more time

Hospital letter required

Official invitation from a recognised Indian hospital
